Seasonal Menus in Temagami

Artisan cheeses, wines, flours, lamb, wild fish, maple syrup, honey, wild fruits, garlic and more, are produced in the rich agricultural lands of northeastern Ontario and northwestern Quebec.

Here in Temagami, we find inspiration in the region’s season’s bounty, the stories of the land, and the people. Wild foragers offer us rare produce like Saskatoon berries, wild plums and wild grapes. Beef and lamb comes grass fed, ethically raised, and healthy to eat. Our own gardens at Smoothwater keep us busy with rhubarb, stinging nettle, St. John’s wort, Bee balm, wild mint, daisy leaf and more. There is too much to tell now.

So, be our guest at our quiet wilderness ecolodge. The table is set for you, with candles and oil lamps, Fiestaware and antiques...

Honey bees in Temagami
Smoothwater's honey bees came through the winter strong, vibrant and happy. And they are mite free. It must be the clean life they are living in the beautiful pines. This may be the year I collect enough honey for my guests to sample.
