THE KITCHEN HELPER-HOUSEKEEPER ROLE

This is a dual role involving both housekeeping and kitchen work.

Our two kitchen helper-housekeepers work together to change over guest rooms in addition to working alternating kitchen shifts. Days look like this:

🍳 Breakfast shift (morning): Person A
🧹 Cleaning shift (midday): Person A & B
🥗 Dinner shift (evening): Person B

Combining the two roles leads to great things:

✨ Hours are more evenly distributed and work is more varied
✨ Housekeeping gets done in half the time, and is more fun with a buddy
✨ Each person gets mornings or evenings off, maximizing work-life balance

The best kitchen helper-housekeepers have a flair for hospitality and a love of cooking and food. They bring creativity and skill to the kitchen, and take pride in helping our lodge look its best. They have an easy way with people and are as comfortable greeting and interacting with guests as they are working with our lodge team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Our kitchen is wonderfully bright and homey – a mix of stainless steel and wood with several large windows and a great view.

Our lodge is small, with three main guest spaces: the Guest House (for sleeping), the Gathering Hall (for lounging), and the Dining Lodge. The Guest House—with five private rooms and two dorms—accounts for most of the daily cleaning. It’s surrounded by trees with a wildflower garden on one side and the lake on the other, with a wraparound deck that makes it convenient to get from room to room.
